on another note, I fail at mother's day because I did not get my mother anything.
and I'll call her like every year. and she will be gracious and thank me for wishing her a nice mother's day. but really we both know what a thankless little shite I am.

Eh, I never get my mum anything either more than a phone call, if I remember heh. Or my step mum.
Best pressie my kids will ever give me when they grow up is to live and maybe remember to ring and if I'm lucky; an "I love you, mum".
I guess what I'm trying to say is from my perspective, a phone call is good :)
And there doesn't have to be an occasion to give one something if that is what you want.
Mother's day can be such a stigma.

If it makes you feel better, we picked up my mom's gift at 6:30 tonight. It's a printer...one she was going to buy, but didn't have the time.
